Panels 960

A CSS Framework with a “Division Decision”

The first release of the Panels960 CSS Framework is in the making. Panels960 is similar to many other CSS frameworks like Blueprint and the 960 Grid System, but instead of using an actual grid, it creates an infrastructure that is based on divisions of the page width. It uses 960 pixels as the base width because 960 is divisible by so many numbers. You can effectively create multi-column layouts with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or more columns of equal or varied widths. The reason I began working on this was to create a way to easily make a comic-book style layout with easily specified panels. Thus the name became Panels960.
